June 2021 Housing Report

“Frustrated buyers may want to hang in there for the summer and continue their search to secure a property. We are seeing some buyers putting the brakes on their efforts after an exhausting spring where they have been unsuccessful in purchasing a home,” advises Linda O’Koniewski, CEO of Leading Edge. “Inventory remains low and demand remains strong in all markets outside the city. Boston condo sales are picking up, and, with the exception of a few neighborhoods, prices are up across the board in Boston as well.”

May sales of single-family homes in the Leading Edge service area increased +55.4% year-over-year. Inventory decreased -36.1%. The number of days on market over the last 12 months decreased -19.4% while median sale prices remain up +9.1% at $705,000.

The following are location-specific overviews of market changes year-over-year, for a sampling of neighborhoods in the Greater Boston Area. Don't see your town listed? Contact me for a custom report!
